Use this guide to prepare a scope or compare proposals. It describes an approach to evaluation, not results from a MENTARA client engagement.
What to include in a Salesforce org assessment
Prepare a Salesforce review covering sales and service processes, automation, access, data quality and a prioritised improvement backlog.
Start with the business questions
Choose the processes that need attention: lead assignment, opportunity progression, forecasting, case handling or another defined workflow. Identify the users, the current friction and the evidence that would show an improvement. A platform inventory alone does not answer whether the process works.
Prepare the assessment inputs
- Process owners, user groups and the reports they rely on.
- An automation inventory, including dependencies between flows, code and integrations.
- Access and permission requirements for the users in scope.
- Data-quality concerns, ownership rules and agreed reporting definitions.
- Release environments, testing arrangements and current support responsibilities.
Ask for actionable findings
A worked planning example
Illustrative example, not a client result: two pipeline reports show different totals because they use different opportunity-stage definitions. The first action is to agree the definition and reconcile a sample. A dashboard rebuild should follow only if it addresses a confirmed remaining requirement.
Before accepting the assessment, check that the backlog distinguishes immediate fixes, business decisions and changes that need further discovery. Agree who can approve and implement each item.
