Questions

The questions worth asking before you engage anyone.

Direct answers on how MENTARA works, what it costs, how engagements are governed, how workforce arrangements are handled across markets, and what a firm founded in 2026 can and cannot evidence.

How to use this page

These are the questions we are actually asked, answered the way we would answer them on a call. Where the honest answer is unhelpful to us, it is still the answer given.

Several of these are worth putting to any supplier you are evaluating, not only to us. The comparison is usually more informative than the individual answer.

About MENTARA

The company.

How established is MENTARA?

MENTARA GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED was incorporated in India on 15 July 2026, CIN U62010TS2026PTC219454, registered in Hyderabad. We are an early-stage firm and do not present ourselves as anything else.

Do you have client references?

Not published ones. We will publish client work only once a client has given documented permission for specific wording — including for anonymised references. Until then this site carries no logo wall and no composite case studies.

What is available during evaluation is direct reference on the individual who would lead your engagement, and their verifiable professional history.

How large is the team?

We do not publish a headcount figure, because at our stage any number we gave would be either unimpressive or misleading depending on how it was counted.

The relevant answer is engagement-specific: your proposal states exactly who is assigned, at what seniority and at what allocation. That is a more useful number than a company total.

Where do you operate?

Registered and based in Hyderabad, India, working with organisations across India, the US, the UK and Europe, and the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. Engagements are remote by default with on-site presence where the work requires it.

Buying

Evaluating and engaging us.

What is the smallest sensible way to start?

A paid, time-boxed piece of work with a defined deliverable — a discovery, an assessment, an architecture or security review, or one contained delivery increment. Weeks rather than quarters.

You get something useful regardless of what you decide afterwards, and you get direct evidence of how we work instead of a curated reference call. There is no minimum engagement size.

How quickly can you start?

Faster than a large integrator, because there is no internal resourcing queue between the conversation and the work. The honest constraint is the opposite one: because teams are small and senior-weighted, we can only hold a limited number of engagements at once, and we will tell you if we cannot staff yours properly.

What do you not do?

We are not the right firm where the binding requirement is very large headcount at short notice, physical presence in many countries simultaneously, or a supplier name your board already recognises. Those are legitimate requirements and a global integrator serves them better.

We also decline work where the outcome depends mostly on factors outside the engagement's control, and outcome-linked commercial structures where the measure cannot be attributed honestly.

Will you tell us if we do not need you?

Yes, and this is the cheapest way to test any supplier's claims about honesty. Ask us directly what portion of your requirement MENTARA should not hold. If there is no such portion, be suspicious of the answer.

Commercials

Cost, contracts and change.

How do you price?

Time and materials, capped time and materials, fixed scope and price, outcome-linked, or retained capacity — selected by how ownership and scope certainty actually sit, not by which suits us. Rates are itemised by role and seniority in the proposal.

Full detail is on the engagement and pricing page.

Why is there no rate card on the site?

Because a rate without the shape of the work attached is not comparable between suppliers, and is routinely used to win on headline price before recovering margin through change requests. Two firms quoting the same day rate can differ by a factor of two on delivered cost.

What happens when scope changes?

It is raised, assessed in writing for its effect on cost, schedule and risk, and accepted before any work is performed against it. No work happens against an unaccepted change, and change is not treated as a planning failure — only as something that has to be visible.

How do we exit?

Under exit terms agreed at the start: a defined notice period, a defined handover package, and no dependency deliberately created to make leaving expensive. Deliverables, documentation and the decision record are yours throughout, not on final payment.

Workforce

Hiring and staffing arrangements.

How is employment classification handled across markets?

Per market, in scoping, before anyone starts. The correct arrangement in India is not the correct arrangement in the UK or the US, and treating classification as a single global template is how both parties end up with a liability nobody priced.

In the UK this means an explicit IR35 determination position for contract engagements. In the US it means the contractor-versus-employee classification and any co-employment exposure being addressed in the contract rather than assumed. In India it means the applicable statutory obligations for the engagement type.

What is your replacement position if a placement does not work out?

Defined in the engagement terms before the first placement, including the qualifying period and what happens commercially. We would rather agree that when both parties are relaxed about it than negotiate it when one of us is not.

Do you screen candidates or forward CVs?

We screen, and we tell you what we did not verify. A shortlist that arrives with an honest note about a candidate's weaker area is worth more than one that arrives looking uniformly excellent.

Right-to-work verification and background checking are performed to the standard the market and role require, and the standard applied is stated rather than implied.

Security

Data and security.

Are you ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certified?

No. MENTARA holds no third-party security attestation today and none is in progress with an appointed auditor. What is committed contractually in each engagement, and what we run internally, is set out in full on the trust and security page.

Where would our data live?

Our default is that it stays in your environment and jurisdiction, with MENTARA working inside your access-control regime. Anything that must sit elsewhere is identified specifically in scoping — what, why, where, for how long and on what legal basis.

Do you use AI tooling on client work?

Only under terms agreed in advance, never with client code or data submitted to services that train on submitted content, and always disclosed. If your policy prohibits it, we work without it.

Careers

Working with us.

What is the hiring process?

Acknowledgement, review against the published scope by a named hiring lead, a role-relevant conversation focused on judgement rather than recall, then a clear decision either way. If the answer is no, you are told it is no.

Does MENTARA ever ask candidates for payment?

Never — not for training, equipment, processing, visa handling or placement, at any stage. Official recruitment correspondence comes only from careers@mentaraglobal.com. Anything else claiming to be us and asking for money is fraudulent; please report it to that address.
