Use this guide to prepare a scope or compare proposals. It describes an approach to evaluation, not results from a MENTARA client engagement.
Questions to ask an international software services supplier
Evaluate remote software delivery through working-hour overlap, named ownership, access controls, contracting, acceptance and handover.
Evaluate the actual delivery arrangement
An international engagement needs a practical agreement about where work is performed, how decisions are made and who owns the result. A list of target countries does not establish local offices, full time-zone coverage or permission to process data in those locations.
Ask for specific answers
Use a first-engagement checklist
- A bounded objective and a named decision-maker on each side.
- Deliverables and acceptance criteria that both teams can review.
- A realistic communication and escalation cadence.
- Dependencies, information gaps and responsibilities stated in writing.
- Handover and exit terms agreed before work starts.
Compare evidence with claims
Ask for relevant, verifiable individual experience and distinguish it from the supplier's own completed engagements. Treat demonstrations as demonstrations and confirm the scope of any certification or appraisal claimed.
MENTARA is based in Hyderabad, India and has no clients yet or overseas operating entities. Its proposed international work must be scoped against the actual location, capability, coverage and contracting requirements. Discuss those requirements before deciding whether the arrangement fits.
